As a Special Education Teacher at Rivermont Schools, you will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment where students with diverse learning needs can achieve academic and personal success. You will design lessons that integrate evidence-based instruction and behavioral supports to help every student reach their goals.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field

  • Eligibility for or possession of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum

  • Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and individualized education programs (IEPs)

  • Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using research-based strategies and behavior analytic principles
