Senior Accountant (Payroll GL & Fixed Assets)

Annual Base Salary $120-$145k + 12% bonus, depending on experience

Bay Area based biotech research firm with philanthropic arm seeks a Senior Accountant to be part of a corporate accounting team of 15+ with a focus on month end close. This role will own the GL side of payroll for multiple entities as well as fixed assets, and review other areas of the close. The role offers good work life balance with potential for growth. Prior industry experience in biotech research is desirable, as is experience in a growth tech environment. Must come from a multi-entity and complex accounting environment. This role will work onsite 3 days per week and offers excellent benefits.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in corporate accounting with a focus on GL and month end close.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment is required.
  • Must have prior payroll accounting/payroll journal entry experience in a complex environment.
  • CPA certification or working towards it is highly desired.
  • Must enjoy variety and have high curiosity to learn.
  • Strong experience with using systems to automate and create customized reports.
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field of study.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, V & X-Lookups, Sum Ifs, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
