Job description

Description
WinnMed is seeking a Histology Technician to join our Laboratory Services departments. The Histology Technician processes all tissues into slides for analysis by the pathologist, manages specimens to assure accurate and quality analysis, and prepares special stains and specimens.
  • Position is full time, 1.0 FTE/ 40 hours per week.
  • Schedule is Monday - Friday day shift.

Requirements
  • Associates Degree required
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or closely related field strongly preferred.
  • Coursework including 24 semester hours of the following:
    • At least 12 credit hours in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology;
    • 6 credit hours in chemistry and 6 credit hours in biology.
  • Histology Technician (HT) certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required within 1 year of hire
  • MT or MLT Certification required
  • Knowledge of slide preparation preferred
  • Previous Histology environment experience preferred
  • Dexterity and good color vision required
