Job description

The Supplier Quality Technician (SQT) position is responsible for managing all the needed steps to obtain customer satisfaction in regard to purchased parts. Position will include series monitoring, containment monitoring, part audits, part problem analysis, production support, review of parts during pre-series to ensure quality and generation levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Solve manufacturing issues via monitoring and analysis of the quality problems, ensuring that the contingency and definitive measures are implemented assuring process stability and preventing these issues in the future.
• Audit the product at the OEM manufacturing line, making sure that it is specification compliant and the manufacturing process and quality can be granted.
• Evaluate and authorize manufacturing processes and packaging related to the CKD logistic process, according to the corporate guidelines.
• Apply methods like DOE, 6 Sigma, CEP (Closed-Ended Problems), etc. to analyze the root causes of complaints.
• Coordinate with the SQE's the follow-up of projects to achieve the quality requirements and the stability of the processes.
• Define action plans to implement the needed improvements, based on the results.
• Influence continuous improvement of our product through audits and series monitoring
• Recommend technical product improvements evaluating risks and potential chances to avoid quality manufacturing issues by comparing similar parts in the assembly line.
• Issue KPM complaints and review supplier 8D responses to close open quality topics
• Support production with part related quality topics
Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years manufacturing experience
• BS Engineering or Quality related or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of quality systems and processes.
• Knowledge of inspection techniques and statistical methods (i.e. DOE, 6 Sigma, CEP, Fishbone, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience at a Tier 1 Supplier or OEM as a Supplier Quality Engineer
• International experience
• BS/MS Engineering
• Familiar with manufacturing processes associated with electronics, plastics, textiles, and metals
• Knowledge of OEM Systems.
• Technical Knowledge of OEM specifications/drawings.
• German and Spanish languages.
Environmental Requirements:
• Job may require employee to move objects up to fifty (50) lbs
• Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
