Job Title

Hazardous Waste Technician

Job Description Summary

This position will be responsible for assisting with day to day EHS responsibilities related to regulated waste management, permit compliance and client support for both lab and manufacturing environments. This role will also have the ability to learn and develop EHS skills related to the Biopharma industry

Job Description

  • Pay: $42hr.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday (6:00am-2:00pm or 7:00am-3:00pm).
  • Provide waste management support for Hazardous and Medical Waste in a lab and GMP Environment.
  • Perform regular Safety and Environmental inspections to support EPA, OSHA and BAAQMD requirements.
  • Perform chemical inventories, as needed.
  • Perform other tasks, as directed by site services manager and project leaders, and agreed to by C&W Services mgmt.
  • Will be supporting two sites. Newark and San Franscisco.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DOT/IATA shipping regulations.
  • Strong understanding of California’s Hazardous and Medical waste regulations.
  • Working with external regulatory agencies (BAAQMD, DTSC, CUPA etc.) on permit compliance.
  • Have basic knowledge of general safety programs (LOTO/Confined Space/Hotwork).
  • Current Title 22, and DOT/IATA training a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Current Hazwoper Certification.
Education and/or Experience   
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) preferred; or seven to ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
