AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative that provides financing and related services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers in a seven-state territory in the Western United States. AgWest is part of the 100+ year-old Farm Credit System - the leading provider of credit to American agriculture.

We are in search of an Azure Engineer II or Azure Engineer III to join our Infrastructure and Operations department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters) or Rocklin, California. This full-time position reports to the Senior Azure Architect and deploys, configures, automates, monitors and supports Azure cloud infrastructure and services in an enterprise environment. Using Azure engineering expertise, established standards and sound judgment, this role helps deliver secure, reliable and scalable cloud solutions while supporting cloud operations, modernization and governance initiatives. The role collaborates with technology teams and vendors to implement and continuously improve cloud capabilities that support AgWest's business objectives.
Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is:
Level II:
Typical starting range: $80,000 - $110,100
Full base salary range: $80,000 - $142,000
Annual performance-based incentive target is 12 or 15% of base depending on experience.
Level III:
Typical starting range: $99,900 - $138,500
Full base salary range: $99,900 - $173,500
Annual performance-based incentive target is 18% of base.
The base salary range for this position in Rocklin, California is:
Level II:
Typical starting range: $91,500 - $126,600
Full base salary range: $91,500 - $163,000
Annual performance-based incentive target is 12 or 15% of base depending on experience.
Level III:
Typical starting range: $114,600 - $159,500
Full base salary range: $114,600 - $199,800
Annual performance-based incentive target is 18% of base.
*Relocation assistance will be provided to eligible candidates who must relocate to accept this position.
Essential Duties
  • Cloud Infrastructure Engineering & Implementation
    • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure in alignment with enterprise architecture, security requirements, and operational standards.
    • Perform cloud migration, modernization, and integration activities by analyzing requirements, planning implementation, provisioning resources, and validating deployments.
    • Configure and support secure Azure networking solutions that enable reliable connectivity across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Automation, DevOps & Standardized Delivery
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates and scripts that support scalable, repeatable, and efficient cloud operations.
    • Participate in cloud provisioning workflows, CI/CD pipeline integration, and operational automation that improve consistency, quality, resiliency, and delivery speed.
    • Provide technical guidance, peer support, knowledge sharing and training on Azure engineering best practices, automation, operational procedures and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Security, Governance & Compliance
    • Evaluate, implement, and support Azure security and compliance controls to protect cloud resources and maintain regulatory and organizational standards.
    • Apply and maintain cloud governance standards, including resource management, access controls, configuration baselines, and technical documentation.
  • Operations, Optimization & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Monitor, analyze, and optimize Azure environments for performance, reliability, availability, security, resiliency, and cost efficiency; identify patterns from operational data and recommend improvements to standards, configurations, and practices.
    • Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure issues and service incidents using Azure monitoring, logging and operational tools.
    • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient and well-integrated cloud solutions that support organizational objectives.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements
  • AgWest employees may occasionally be asked to travel for all-staff or team meetings not included in the standard travel requirements for the role.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training,and experience
  • Generally requires three to five years of hands-on experience deploying, automating, monitoring, and supporting cloud infrastructure in an enterprise environment, preferably with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure
  • Working knowledge of core Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, security, and platform management capabilities, with the ability to apply established procedures to routine and moderately complex assignments
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking services and cloud connectivity concepts, including virtual networks, routing, DNS, network security controls, and hybrid connectivity
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, including on-premises integration, secure connectivity, and operational support, with guidance on new or complex configurations
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions to moderately complex cloud infrastructure problems using acquired technical experience, sound judgment and documented precedents
  • Working proficiency with scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, document work clearly, and know when to seek guidance or escalate issues

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure automation and infrastructure-as-code practices using Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and related cloud engineering tools
  • Professional Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
  • Demonstrated growth mindset and ability to build knowledge of company processes, customer needs, technical standards, and related technology disciplines
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, cloud provisioning workflows, infrastructure monitoring, backup and recovery processes, and operational runbooks
  • Experience working with managed service providers, vendors and third-party technology partners
  • Experience implementing or supporting cloud governance, policy management, access controls, or security best practices
  • Experience working in regulated or complex environments; familiarity with financial institution operations is preferred
