Job description

Product Manager - Observability (Dynatrace & AI)

Who are we looking for:

We are looking for a strategic Product Manager to own and evolve our observability product portfolio, leveraging Dynatrace SaaS, Business Events, and AI-driven insights from Davis. This role will define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for observability across infrastructure and applications, ensuring alignment with business priorities. The Product Manager will partner with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class monitoring experience that drives reliability, performance, and automation.

Why is this role important to us:

This role is critical to both Charles River Development and State Street because observability underpins the reliability, performance, and scalability of their investment management platforms. Charles River's IMS platform and State Street Alpha deliver front-to-back solutions for global asset managers, handling trillions in assets and servicing thousands of investment professionals. Ensuring these platforms remain stable and performant is essential for client trust and operational excellence. A dedicated Product Manager for Observability will define the strategy for proactive monitoring, predictive analytics, and automated remediation using Dynatrace and Davis AI, enabling faster incident resolution, reducing downtime, and improving client experience. This role aligns with State Street's mission to innovate and maintain leadership in financial services technology by integrating advanced observability practices into cloud-based solutions, safeguarding critical business processes and supporting the firm's global scale

What you would be responsible for:

Define Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Establish the long-term vision for observability and monitoring capabilities using Dynatrace and related AI solutions.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact, customer needs, and technical feasibility.

Own Product Lifecycle:

  • Translate business objectives into actionable product requirements for dashboards, event management, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage migration strategy from Dynatrace Managed to Dynatrace SaaS/Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver dashboards, alerts, and integrations that provide a single-pane-of-glass view of system health.
  • Partner with technical support and SaaS operations to enable event management, triage workflows, and analytics for incident resolution.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Define KPIs, SLAs, and baseline thresholds for monitoring performance.
  • Analyze observability data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive automation and integration initiatives to streamline monitoring processes.
  • Explore AI-driven capabilities (e.g., Dynatrace AI) to enhance predictive insights and proactive remediation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in software product management or related leadership roles.
  • Strong experience with Dynatrace (SaaS, Managed, DQL, Grail Logs) and performance monitoring concepts.
  • Familiarity with Davis AI and AI-driven observability solutions.
  • Proven ability to define KPIs, SLAs, and monitoring strategies.
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure) and enterprise monitoring frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Dynatrace certification and experience with Business Events.
  • Knowledge of Dynatrace-ServiceNow integration.
  • Familiarity with automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC tools (Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible).
  • Exposure to Azure-based tooling and scripting.

Key Attributes:

  • Strategic thinker with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business priorities.
  • Passion for driving operational excellence and automation.

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $140,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
