Position Overview

We are seeking a BIM Integration Developer to build and scale data pipelines and user-facing tools that enable interoperability across BIM and infrastructure systems. This role combines backend data engineering with modern frontend development, focusing on transforming complex model data into usable, high-quality outputs and intuitive user experiences.
You will work across the stack-developing APIs, handling large datasets, and building React-based interfaces-while contributing to data export workflows (including IFC) and broader integration capabilities.

Location

This position can be located in our Omaha, Nebraska office or in our Lone Tree, Colorado office.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable data transformation pipelines for BIM and infrastructure model data
  • Develop mapping and normalization strategies to translate complex model properties into structured, interoperable formats
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support data access, transformation, and export workflows
  • Develop modern frontend interfaces using React to visualize, configure, and interact with model data and export processes
  • Ensure exported data is standards-aligned and compatible with downstream BIM and analytics tools
  • Optimize performance for large-scale datasets and model processing workflows
  • Work with both relational and non-relational data stores, contributing to data storage design decisions and implementation based on use cases
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to define data requirements and user workflows
  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, along with clear technical documentation
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural and design decisions
  • Troubleshoot issues related to data pipelines, APIs, and UI workflows
  • Continuously improve development practices, including the use of AI-assisted coding tools
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong programming experience in C# and .NET (preferably .NET 6+)
  • Solid experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong frontend development experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience working with SQL databases and relational data modeling
  • Familiarity with BIM concepts and model data structures (geometry, properties, relationships)
  • Understanding of data transformation, ETL processes, and schema mapping
  • Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IFC or similar interoperability formats (working knowledge is sufficient; deep specialization not required)
  • Experience with NoSQL and analytical data formats, such as MongoDB, elasticsearch, etc.,
  • Experience building data-intensive or distributed systems
  • Exposure to modern cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, code generation tools) to improve productivity and code quality
  • Background in AEC, infrastructure, or engineering-related domains
  • Experience developing data visualization or configuration-driven UI workflows

Base Compensation: 92,000/yr - $111,000/yr
