Job description

KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Principal Engineer / Technical Executive that is fully remote.

Overview
This role is designed for a highly experienced engineer who operates across the full technology stack while driving architecture, product delivery, and system reliability. You will combine deep technical expertise with hands-on execution, owning everything from frontend experiences to backend systems, infrastructure, and AI integration.
This is a builder role—someone who moves quickly, solves problems across multiple layers, and leads through execution rather than delegation.
What You'll Do
• Build and ship features across the entire stack, including frontend interfaces, backend services, data layers, and AI-powered capabilities
• Design and implement system architecture, including service boundaries, data models, caching strategies, and infrastructure topology
• Own production systems end-to-end, diagnosing and resolving issues across application servers, job workers, databases, and distributed systems
• Lead the integration of AI capabilities from research through production, including prototyping, model evaluation, and deployment behind scalable APIs
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, model training workflows, and inference systems with attention to performance, cost, and scalability
• Design and implement payment and billing systems, including subscription logic, webhook processing, and financial reconciliation
• Contribute across all layers of development, from database migrations and API design to UI components, testing, and deployment workflows
• Establish engineering best practices by setting a high bar for code quality, testing, and documentation
• Mentor and support engineers across the team, helping unblock complex technical challenges
What We're Looking For
• 8+ years of experience building and shipping complex production systems
• Strong full-stack expertise, including modern frontend frameworks, backend APIs, database design, and infrastructure management
• Proven experience working across multiple layers of a system, from UI to backend to infrastructure
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems, including understanding of model serving and inference pipelines
• Experience building systems that handle financial transactions, including payment processing, subscription management, or reconciliation workflows
• Deep understanding of production systems, including debugging performance issues, analyzing logs and metrics, and maintaining system reliability at scale
• Experience designing and scaling systems in real-world environments under growing demand
• Strong system design skills with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs and adapt based on evolving requirements
• Ability to operate independently, move quickly, and take ownership of high-impact technical decisions
Nice to Have
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools or distributed job processing systems
• Background working with self-managed infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with media, creator platforms, or content-heavy systems
• Experience with cryptocurrency or alternative payment systems
Technology Stack
• React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
• Node.js / NestJS, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Redis
• Temporal, Docker, Linux-based infrastructure
• Cloud and storage platforms
• Python / PyTorch for AI pipelines
• Monitoring, observability, and CI/CD tooling

Compensation depends on experience but is typically 195-215k
