Job description

Compensation:
Pay Range: $60-$100/hr, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Software Engineering and Architecture teams to define, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps standards for all environments.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
  • Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins, integrating automated testing and security scanning.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), Helm, and FluxCD.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor.
  • Ensure systems are secure and compliant with company policies and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
  • Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools and practices to improve efficiency and resilience.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining DevOps pipelines in enterprise or SaaS environments.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, EC2, VPC, Route 53, CloudFront, CloudWatch) and/or Azure (AKS, Functions, App Service, Monitor, Key Vault).
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation) and Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Skilled in Linux administration (expert-level) and comfortable with Windows environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration, including Helm and FluxCD.
  • Experience with Git and modern version control workflows (feature branching, code review, merge strategies).
  • Familiarity with cloud security, networking, and cost optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Location: Candidates must be local to Massachusetts; this position requires some onsite collaboration.
