Job Summary:
ABC Supply Co., Inc. is the largest wholesale distributor of roofing in the United States, and they are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to deliver analytics solutions for the enterprise. The role involves building data pipelines and structures that support the cloud data warehouse, ensuring data reliability and quality for business analysts and data scientists.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Work closely with business and technical teams to deliver enterprise grade datasets that are reliable, flexible, scalable, and provide low cost of ownership.
โ€ข Understands common analytical data models like Kimball. Ensures physical data models align with best practice and requirements.
โ€ข Ensures team is performing peer review. Conducting the more advanced changes personally.
โ€ข Aids the product owner group and manager in prioritization by helping identify opportunities for improvement and quick assessment of priority during the day.
โ€ข Build and maintain raw data pipelines from varied sources.
โ€ข Build and maintain the data warehouse pipelines.
โ€ข Represent the team with leadership in workshop and planning activities as needed.
โ€ข Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
โ€ข Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and resources needed to develop, and implement enterprise datasets as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is required. A high school diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.
โ€ข A minimum of 5 years relevant experience of development using integration platforms.
โ€ข A minimum of 2 years' experience building database tables and models.
โ€ข Must be able to write TSQL for DDL and DML operations fluently.
โ€ข Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns (EIP) and data warehouse modeling.
โ€ข Experience with development and data warehouse requirements gathering, analysis and design.
โ€ข Possess strong business acumen and consistently demonstrates forward thinking.
Preferred:
โ€ข Prefer recent experience using cloud data engineering toolsets.
โ€ข Highly prefer recent experience in Azure using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Snowflake.
