Job description

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a skilled and adaptable full-time Azure Systems Administrator to join our IT/Infrastructure Department. Possible office locations include: Harrisburg, PA; Union, NJ; Ashburn, VA; Houston, TX and San Diego, CA.
Job Summary:
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, communicates well, and maintains a positive, solutions-focused attitude. The Systems Administrator plays a key role in supporting, managing, and optimizing our Azure-based infrastructure, while working closely with team members across various departments.
Salary Range: $90 - 110k, based upon qualifications and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services (e.g., virtual machines, storage, networking, Entra and on prem AD, backups).
  • Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring high levels of uptime and security.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot cloud-based and hybrid solutions.
  • Maintain documentation and system records.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities, changing deadlines, and emerging business needs.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for Azure-related issues.
  • Participate in planning and executing system upgrades and changes.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, and security within Azure environments.
  • Skilled with scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-premises + Azure) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Clear, confident communication and a positive, proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-303/304).
  • Experience working independently with small teams and shared responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 integration and administration.

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
