What is expected of YOU:
As a cook for the Asia Azteca, you will be responsible for executing daily prep and service with precision and consistency in an Asian and Latin American cuisine-focused environment, under the guidance of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chefs. Expertise in preparing a variety of Asian dishes, such as stir-fries and noodle-based dishes, is essential. A strong understanding of Asian cooking techniques, such as wok cooking, steaming, and braising, is highly valued. Additionally, knowledge of food safety practices and proper ingredient handling is crucial to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. Responsibilities include participating in line checks, maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas, and ensuring prep meets the Chef's standards for Asian-inspired offerings. Cooks are also expected to follow all health and safety regulations, support daily sanitation efforts, and assist in educating front-of-house staff on daily specials. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction are key to success in this role.
Experience YOU will need:
  • 1-2 years of previous cooking experience is preferred
  • Experience utilizing a wok or other traditional asian cuisine equipment is preferred
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
  • Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
  • Proper cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Food Knowledge

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 25 - 30 lbs
  • Stand for long periods
  • Navigate crowded spaces
  • Flexibility in bending and reaching
  • Adaptability to casino conditions, including:
    • Bright lights
    • Noise

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations.
  • Able to obtain/maintain Food Handlers Serv Safe certifications as required by the Lake County Health Department regulations.
