Job description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Glazier to join our company. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and installing various types of glass, including tempered, laminated, and insulated glass in an industrial/mining environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to handle large, heavy glass.

Key Responsibilities

• Auto Glass Installation: Perform auto glass repairs and replacements on all makes and models of vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.

• Glass Preparation: Measure dimensions, cut glass accurately, and smooth rough edges using hand tools or automated machinery.

• Installation: Laminated glass windows cut to pattern, on-site and installed in various types of mining equipment, including shovels, drills, dozers, etc.

• Sealing & Weatherproofing: Secure glass using glazing compound, silicone, urethane, clips, moldings, or rubber gaskets, and apply high-quality sealants to ensure installations are completely weatherproof, watertight and insulated.

• Removal & Repair: Safely remove broken, damaged or old glass, and strip existing putty or moldings from frames prior to replacement.

• Calibration and Realignment: Perform static and dynamic calibrations to realign cameras for automotive windshield replacements. Experience with Autel ADAS calibration equipment, a plus.

• Safety & Code Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing protective gear, fall protection, and maintaining a safe work environment while assuring MSHA standards are followed at all times.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Physical Fitness: Must have the ability to lift heavy materials, stand, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Comfort with Heights: Must be comfortable and confident working at heights.

• Math & Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints/patterns, understand measurements, and perform precise geometric calculations while cutting glass for mining equipment.

• Tool Familiarity: Utilization of specialized tools and equipment for glass installation.

• Driving Requirements: Having a valid driver’s license and clean driving record is necessary and will be verified through AZ MVD by company Insurance provider.

• Drug Testing & Background Check Requirements: Pre-employment drug testing is required as a condition of employment and random testing will be conducted upon employer notification throughout employment. Prior to beginning work, a Background Check will be performed by way of a signed Background Disclosure and Release Form once an offer has been extended.
