Job description

Sr. Budget Analyst

Axle Informatics is a bioscience and information technology company that offers advancements in translational research, biomedical informatics, and data science applications to research centers and healthcare organizations around the globe. With experts in biomedical science, software engineering, and program management, we focus on developing and applying research tools and techniques to empower decision-making and accelerate research discoveries. We work with some of the top research organizations and facilities in the country including multiple institutes at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

We are seeking a Sr. Budget Analyst to join the team at Axle Informatics. The selected candidate will be responding to NIH budgetary requests, preparing reports, forecasts, and analyses for NIH customers as well tracking contract metrics including Earned Value Management.

Responsibilities

  • Provides financial management over the NIH contract, subcontracts and program to control costs, schedule and performance of the prime contract.
  • Provides contract-level financial forecasting to include monthly, quarterly, and annual cost projections and scenario modeling to assess project changes.
  • Provides the centralized planning, direction, and control required to meet the cost, schedule, and performance goals throughout the life-cycle of the contract.
  • Review of all subcontract & consulting agreements to ensure financial compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ensures assigned contracts are following and in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, laws, standards, procedures.
  • Proposes ways in which financial planning can be improved and/or processes can be streamlined.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience with general budgeting MS Excel, MS Suite, Business Intelligence, software experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting.
  • Experience with metrics for assessing, analyzing, and reporting program cost variances and corrective actions.
  • Experience managing Time and Materials (T&M), Cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF), Cost-plus award Fee (CPAF) or Firm Fixed-Price (FFP) contract types.
  • Proficient with developing program/project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and, allocation of available resources.
