Job description

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist specializing in 5-Axis machining! In this role, you will be at the forefront of precision metalworking, utilizing advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology to produce complex parts with exceptional accuracy. Your expertise will help drive manufacturing excellence, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet strict specifications. We are seeking motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about craftsmanship and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a cutting-edge setting while contributing to the creation of intricate components used across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 5-Axis CNC milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
  • Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, including G-code and M-code, to produce complex parts.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for quality assurance.
  • Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions.
  • Perform machine calibration, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances during production runs.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, perform manual machining when necessary, and optimize processes for efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, welding, grinding, and handling tooling or power tools.
  • Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct quality inspections on finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications before release.
  • Assist in machine setup, tooling selection, and maintenance routines to maximize machine uptime.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating 5-Axis CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models created in SolidWorks or similar software.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinding equipment, lathes, and manual machining techniques is advantageous.
  • Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, measurement instruments like calipers and micrometers, and precision measurement in machining processes.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and apply GD&T standards effectively.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material allowances necessary for precise manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety protocols including welding procedures when applicable.
  • Certification or training in CNC programming or related technical fields is a plus but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.

Join us if you’re eager to elevate your career in CNC machining by working on intricate projects that challenge your skills! We value precision craftsmanship combined with innovative problem-solving—come be part of our dedicated team committed to manufacturing excellence!
