AWS Infrastructure Engineer (Senior) | Columbus, Ohio, United States AWS Infrastructure Engineer (Senior) Location: Columbus, OH (Remote flexibility) | Job Type: Contract to Hire About the Role: Join a dynamic Platform team as a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer, where you will architect, develop, and support robust AWS environments that enable cutting-edge Data Science, AI/ML, and Data Lake initiatives. You will be the technical owner of critical cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence for a rapidly growing team of Data Scientists and engineers. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on key business outcomes and advance your career through hands-on work with the latest cloud and DevOps technologies. Responsibilities: - Architect, deploy, and manage large-scale AWS environments tailored for Data Science and AI/ML workloads. - Support and optimize Data Science infrastructure operations, guaranteeing high availability and performance. - Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform for streamlined environment provisioning and lifecycle management. - Develop automation scripts and applications in Python to enhance operational efficiency. - Manage, monitor, and support Kubernetes clusters, including production support and troubleshooting. - Oversee image management lifecycle processes and security guard rails, ensuring compliance and minimizing vulnerabilities. - Manage AWS accounts, data storage solutions (EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue), and database services (Athena, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres). - Lead system upgrades, patching, and conduct root cause analysis for incidents. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Network, Database, Infrastructure, and Architecture to deliver integrated solutions. - Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and training to internal teams. - Respond to user requests and resolve infrastructure-related roadblocks within established SLAs. Required Skills and Experience: - 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science infrastructure and AWS environment management. - Expertise with AWS services: Lambda, EC2, S3, Glue, SageMaker, Athena. - Advanced skills in Kubernetes cluster management and production support. - Strong proficiency in Terraform (IaC), Azure DevOps (CI/CD), Docker, and ECR. - Experience with database technologies: Athena, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres. - Proficient in Python programming and automation scripting. - Skilled in applying security tools and processes (AQUA, Kenna). - Track record of technical documentation and knowledge sharing. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Preferred Skills: - AWS Certified, Terraform Certified, Kubernetes or CKA Certified. - Experience in technical service management and product life cycle maintenance. - Advanced shell scripting capabilities.
