About the role
As an AWS Data Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and optimizing scalable cloud-based data solutions that enable analytics, business insights, and data-driven decision-making. You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver secure and efficient AWS-based solutions.
In this role, you will:
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL and data integration pipelines using AWS Glue.
  • Build and support serverless applications and data processing workflows using AWS Lambda.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and analytics solutions leveraging Amazon Athena.
  • Configure, manage, and enhance Amazon Redshift environments to support enterprise data warehousing needs.
  • Perform database migrations and replication activities using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), while ensuring security, scalability, and operational excellence across AWS environments.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics, or other related AWS certifications.
  • Experience building dashboards, analytics, or business intelligence solutions using Q Developer or similar technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with large-scale enterprise data platforms and cloud modernization initiatives.

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $155,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
