Your New Role
  • Perform visual weld inspections according to AWS standards and project specifications

  • Inspect structural steel fabrication and welding processes for quality compliance

  • Review blueprints, weld symbols, WPS documents, and inspection requirements

  • Verify welder qualifications and approved welding procedures

  • Maintain QA/QC reports, inspection records, and project documentation

  • Collaborate with shop personnel, project managers, and field teams

  • Support and reinforce a strong safety and quality culture

  • Support structural steel and fabrication projects throughout Tigard and the Portland, OR area

  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, or UT-certified candidates with D1.5 and D1.8 experience who are willing to obtain CWI certification within 90 days of hire

  • UT certification required

  • MT certification preferred for candidates who do not currently hold it

  • Experience in structural steel, fabrication, or industrial welding environments

  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards

  • Experience with AWS D1.5 and D1.8 standards preferred

  • Ability to read fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Experience with QA/QC documentation and inspection reporting

Preferred Experience
  • AWI experience

  • NDT certifications including VT, MT, PT, or UT preferred

  • Public works or large-scale fabrication project experience

  • Field inspection experience
