KBR seeks a Database Engineer/ Developer to support the CAPE Joint Data Support (JDS) Division. CAPE JDS is a multi-source funded and OSD CAPE managed organization responsible for identifying, collecting, developing, analyzing, managing, and disseminating historical, current, and future years U.S. and Non-U.S. forces inventory, capabilities, and deployment data (including planning, programming, and acquisition data) supporting collaborative study teams guided by the Analysis Working Group (AWG). JDS develops standardized data products and analytic tools to support Joint analytic efforts focused on Senior Leader decision support. Additionally, JDS supports AWG led SCI/SAP/SAR studies and analyses.
The Database Engineer/ Developer will be responsible for performing tasks relating to integrating database Management System (DBMS) applications, including definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection for knowledge management applications and uses. Duties may include entering and reviewing data within the database, ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines. Regularly employs ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems in order to achieve functional objectives. Communicates with team members across multiple areas and client team members. Works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.

Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered for the position
Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
Four (4) years of experience designing, executing, and delivering agile data/database management leveraging at least one (1) of the following areas:
Data/Database Engineering: Expertise with database/memory/file systems optimization and architecture, Application Program Interfaces (APIs), analytics as a service, optimization of data flows, and data plumbing. Additionally, must have documented experience creating, manipulating, and maintaining large datasets
Statistics: Expertise with statistical modeling, experimental design, sampling, clustering, data reduction, confidence intervals, testing, modeling, and predictive modeling
Mathematics: Expertise with big data and performing inventory management, forecasting, optimization, and supply chain analysis
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning: Expertise utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for developing and running algorithms and dealing with computational complexity.
The candidate must also possess adeptness in interfacing with clients and demonstrated expertise in Structured Query Language (SQL).
