Job Summary
The AVP, Team Leader is a strategic people leader responsible for managing and developing a high-performing Account Management team while contributing to the growth of a portfolio of high-value Commercial Lines Property & Casualty clients. This role balances team leadership, client strategy, and business execution, ensuring consistent service excellence, talent development, and strong client outcomes. The AVP serves as a senior escalation point and actively engages in complex or high-risk client situations, reinforcing NFPโ€™s reputation as a trusted advisor.

This role is ideal for an experienced people leader or a high-performing Senior Account Executive ready to take the next step in their career. It offers the opportunity to leverage deep client management expertise while expanding your impact through leadership, coaching, talent development, and team success.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Albany, NY, requiring an in-office presence three days per week to foster collaboration, professional development, and strong partnerships across teams. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

โ€ข Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to team members, ensuring clarity of roles, priorities, and expectations.
โ€ข Monitor team workload and capacity, proactively balancing assignments and determining readiness to take on new clients and opportunities.
โ€ข Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular check-ins, and deliver ongoing coaching and feedback to support individual and team success.
โ€ข Partner with team members on career development, including goal setting, skill-building, and succession planning aligned with business needs.
โ€ข Join strategic, renewal, or difficult client meetings as needed to support the team, strengthen relationships, and ensure effective outcomes.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

โ€ข 10+ years of Commercial Lines account management experience desiredDemonstrated leadership experience including staff management, performance management, coaching, training, and operational oversight.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information and tailor messaging to different audiences.
โ€ข Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex client and team-related challenges.
โ€ข Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
โ€ข Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams, leadership, clients, and carrier partners.
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel; experience with agency management systems (EPIC preferred).

โ€ข P&C Insurance License required
โ€ข Professional insurance designation required. (CIC, CISR, CPCU, CRM, AAI, etc.) preferred

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 โ€“ $150,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
