Position Summary 

The AVP Data Systems and Analytics is responsible for managing and contributing to the end-to-end delivery of Data Systems & Analytics initiatives, he/she will be responsible for business analysis, technical systems analysis, design, development, and maintenance of software to support process automation, optimization, acceleration and experience.  The AVP Data Systems and Analytics is a technical leader and possesses advanced technical and business knowledge and skills.  The AVP Data Systems and Analytics is skilled in information management techniques, structured system development methodologies, software development tools, and change management. In this position, they must have the knowledge and ability to drive the development team to the next level of efficiency and scalability.

 
Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Understands, interprets and translates development requirements into the necessary designs and documentation.
  • Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes, knowledge of products and system architecture.
  • Identifies and compiles data sets using appropriate tools to help predict, track, improve, and measure the success of key digital features and projects.
  • Responsible for documenting data requirements, data collection / processing / cleaning, and exploration data analysis, which may include utilizing statistical models / algorithms and data visualization techniques.
  • Must have the ability to create dashboards and analyze insights to help business performance in various reporting domains.
  • Work hands-on whenever needed as we are a growing team, and additional resources may not always be available
  • Knowledge of architectural, design, and coding best practices, including the ability to devise, defend, and communicate them to developer teams.
  • Triage techno-functional issues and facilitate resolution by assembling required teams.
  • Demonstrate understanding of various software delivery methodologies (waterfall, iterative, Agile), when and how to implement them successfully, and their respective pros and cons.
  • Work with platform squads to define engineering standards, best practices, and tooling required for the team.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by aligning architecture, user experience, and security with chapters and COEs.
  • Partner with product, technology, program management, and other stakeholders to prioritize and plan roadmap items.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology and product teams to build, test, and deploy products.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and quality.
  • Serve as a mentor, technical leader, and thought leader for a talented team by challenging them and helping them grow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent industry working experience.
  • 12+ years of working experience in IT Organizations
  • At least 6 years of software development experience, preferably in Data Engineering (ELT/ETL, Visualization, Modelling etc.)
  • Broad understanding of different technology patterns (Batch frameworks, API, Event-driven systems, Databases)
  • Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases (Oracle, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Snowflake etc.) and file systems like Avro, Parquet etc.
  • Experience with Kafka, Storm, Airflow, Flink & Logstash
  • Experience with analytics & visualization tools like Tableau, Superset, Kibana, Hive, Spark etc.
  • Experience in Agile Methodology for software development.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication, creating reports and presentations to senior executives.
  • Experienced in using MS Office tools, JIRA, or other collaboration tools.
  • Experienced People management and performance management
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration skills to communicate to different audiences (technology leadership, business leadership, team members, etc.) appropriately.
  • Strong understanding of ITL framework and experience in change management, and problem management. 
 
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent industry working experience.
  • Understanding/Experience of AI ecosystem like (RAG, Agentic AI, and LLM’s)
  • Working on Open-Source Data Technologies like Minio, Doris, Feast etc.
  • Technology certifications (AWS, Snowflake, Spark etc.)
