Role Summary:
Title: AVP, Financial Systems (Workday Financials)
Reports To: Senior Workday Financial Systems Leader
Location: Houston, TX - Hybrid (2 days in office: Tuesday and Wednesday; 3 days remote). Can also be fully remote
Overview: The AVP, Financial Systems will play a critical role in transforming and optimizing the company's financial systems infrastructure, with a strong focus on Workday Financials and related tools (Adaptive, Prism, Extend). This individual will partner closely with Finance Transformation, Accounting, FP&A, and IT teams to design, build, and support scalable solutions that improve reporting speed, data quality, and analytical capabilities. The role is ideal for a hands-on Workday expert who can step in immediately, support a global finance organization, and help drive automation, efficiency, and modern system capabilities

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and support the Workday ecosystem, including Workday Financials, Adaptive, Prism, Extend, and related tools
Partner with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable system solutions
Build and maintain complex financial reports, dashboards, and custom applications
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
Support system integrations and ensure data accuracy across platforms and source systems
Develop and maintain documentation for system design, reporting rules, and business requirements
Establish metrics to evaluate system performance, user productivity, and process efficiency
Collaborate on finance transformation initiatives to improve reporting cycle times and enable better business insights
Ensure alignment with IT governance, policies, and global system standards
Support user training and adoption of tools across the finance organization
Assist with issue identification, remediation, and continuous improvement of system capabilities

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
5-6+ years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to financial systems and Workday Financials
Deep technical expertise in Workday (business processes, calculated fields, reporting, security, validations)
Experience with Workday Prism and/or Adaptive is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, Tax, Controllership)
Experience supporting global organizations and working with distributed teams (US, Europe, India)
Ability to operate as a plug-and-play contributor in a lean team environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills across finance and IT stakeholders
Experience with system integrations, automation, and process improvement initiatives
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $125k-$150k (based on skills and experience)
Bonus: 12% target annual target
