About Water Lily Learning Center

Water Lily Learning Center - Avondale is a Gold-rated Step Up to Quality program serving children from infancy through preschool in Cincinnati's Avondale neighborhood. We maintain high standards of care, follow all Ohio DCY regulations, and use the Creative Curriculum to guide children's development. Our Avondale team is committed to consistency, family partnerships, and ensuring every child feels safe and supported.

Position Summary

The Floater Teacher - Avondale provides reliable daily coverage and team support across all classrooms at our Avondale campus. This role is essential to maintaining DCY ratios and consistent care quality throughout the center. If you thrive in a flexible environment, build relationships easily across age groups, and take pride in being the most dependable person on the team - this role is built for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom routines and Creative Curriculum activities across infant, toddler, and preschool rooms at the Avondale campus
  • Supervise children during meals, rest, transitions, and outdoor play
  • Ensure all Avondale classrooms meet Ohio DCY and Step Up to Quality Gold health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and maintaining clean classroom environments
  • Set up materials and assist with classroom prep for Avondale lead teachers
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Avondale staff and families across all classrooms
  • Float between classrooms based on Avondale ratio needs and daily scheduling
  • Follow all Water Lily Learning Center, DCY, and Step Up to Quality Gold policies and expectations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework, CDA, or Associate degree preferred
  • Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting preferred
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively across multiple classroom environments throughout the day
  • Flexible, reliable, and a strong team contributor in a dynamic multi-room setting
  • Physical ability to support full classroom duties across all age groups including lifting and floor-level interaction
  • Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances

Schedule and Compensation

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • $14-$16/hr based on experience and qualifications
