Role Description

The Technical Publications Writer / Illustratoris responsible for developing, illustrating, and maintaining technicalpublications supporting VIP aircraft completion, refurbishment, modification,maintenance, and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) programs.

 This position transforms engineering data,certification documentation, and aircraft installation information into clear,accurate, and regulatory-compliant technical manuals, Instructions forContinued Airworthiness (ICA), Aircraft Flight Manuals (AFM), Aircraft CrewOperating Manuals (ACOM), Cabin Safety Briefing materials, ComponentMaintenance Manuals (CMM), and other customer deliverables.

 Working closely with Engineering, Certification,Production, Quality, Program Management, and Flight Operations, the TechnicalPublications Writer / Illustrator ensures all documentation accurately reflectsthe completed aircraft configuration while meeting FAA, EASA, customer, andcompany standards. 


Essential Job Functions

        Interpret engineering drawings, electricalschematics, system diagrams, and substantiation reports to develop technicalpublications supporting aircraft certification and customer delivery.

        Develop and maintain - Instructions forContinued Airworthiness (ICA), Aircraft Crew Operating Manuals (ACOM), AircraftFlight Manual Supplements (AFMS), Cabin Safety Briefing documentation, Systemoperating procedures, Maintenance procedures, Inspection instructions, Operationaldocumentation, technical reference manuals, et.

        Produce clear, concise, and technicallyaccurate procedural documentation for aircraft maintenance personnel,operators, inspectors, and flight crews.

        Create and revise technical illustrations,exploded views, diagrams, and graphics supporting engineering and maintenancedocumentation.

        Develop installation photographs and visualreferences using digital photography to support technical publications.

        Collaborate with Engineering and Productionto validate installation procedures and maintenance instructions prior toaircraft delivery.

        Review aircraft configurations to ensuredocumentation accurately reflects each aircraft's unique customerconfiguration.

        Coordinate with Certification Engineers toensure documentation complies with FAA, EASA, and applicable regulatoryrequirements.

        Perform technical editing and qualityreviews of publications to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, andcompliance with company standards.

        Maintain document configuration control andrevision history throughout each aircraft program.

        Support engineering change activities byupdating technical publications to reflect design revisions and productionchanges.

        Participate in customer documentationreviews and support aircraft delivery documentation packages.

        Assist in developing company documentationstandards, templates, style guides, and publication processes.

        Support continuous improvement initiativesrelated to technical documentation, document management, and publicationquality.

        Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Education andExperience

        Bachelor's degree in TechnicalCommunication, Aviation Technology, Engineering Technology, IndustrialTechnology, Graphic Communications, Aeronautics, or a related disciplinepreferred.

        Equivalent combination of education andrelevant aviation technical publications experience will be considered.

        Minimum three (3) years of technical writingor technical publications experience within aviation or aerospace.

        Experience supporting aircraft modification,aircraft completion, maintenance, or certification programs preferred.

        Experience developing FAA or EASA regulatorydocumentation preferred.

        Ability to read, interpret, and understandengineering drawings, aircraft system schematics, and technical specifications.
