Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineer III to lead technical execution across multiple complex military aviation programs, spanning both rotary-wing and fixed-wing platforms. You will serve as a primary customer interface, lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and steer major design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR). This role oversees requirements, architecture, risk, scheduling, and system testing while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, integration, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) teams.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Interface: Serve as the principal technical point of contact for military customers, sub-contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • IPT Leadership: Lead multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to drive technical execution and program alignment.
  • Design Reviews: Plan, lead, and successfully execute formal aviation milestones including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Multi-Program Leadership: Manage systems engineering execution across multiple concurrent fixed and rotary-wing military aviation programs.
  • Architecture & Digital Engineering: Define, develop, and maintain robust system architectures using Cameo and 3DExperience platforms.
  • Requirements & Risk: Oversee the decomposition, traceability, and validation of complex requirements while managing technical risks and schedule milestones.
  • Lifecycle Testing: Drive system integration, verification, and validation (V&V) planning, including defining test cases, managing test execution, and analyzing flight or laboratory data.
  • Cross-Functional Interface: Serve as the primary technical bridge between engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, and operations, organizations to ensure seamless design-to-sustainment transitions.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive systems engineering experience in the military aerospace or defense industry.
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven success leading IPTs and presenting complex engineering data directly to military customers.
  • Platform Expertise: Proven background supporting both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft development or modification programs.
  • Testing & Integration: Demonstrated experience in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, system integration labs (SIL), and formal qualification testing (QT).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced, hands-on experience using Cameo Simulation Toolkit and the 3DExperience ecosystem for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Strong knowledge of military airworthiness certification processes (e.g., MIL-HDBK-516C, AR 70-62).
  • Strong knowledge of military safety (e.g. MIL-STD-882E, SAE ARP 4754/4761)
  • Strong Knowledge of Design Assurance Guidelines for hardware and software (RTCA DO-254, RTCA DO-178C)
  • Team Leadership: ย experience formally leading, mentoring, and direct-tasking a team of engineers.
