Aviation Quality Assurance Inspector Jobs (NOW HIRING)

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONSupervise and coordinate the activities of Quality Assurance and Maintenance Department Safety. Directly supervise Quality Inspectors and Supply Technicians-IMRL. Supervise and perform I-level quality assurance inspections on assigned aircraft/aeronautical equipment/SE.Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh nonagricultural raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.DUTIESWorks from blue-prints, maintenance manuals, quality control procedures, quality instructions, Contractor standard specifications, naval inspection manual/cards and military technical directives. Inspects mechanical, electrical and electronic systems assemblies and engines using general and special test equipment. Monitors all required inspections of maintenance procedures and system checkouts. Performs liaison with USG quality control personnel. Complies with all current sections of NAVAIRINST 3710.1 Series and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series as applicable and possesses a thorough knowledge of I-level and industrial plant operations; knowledge of Navy aeronautical equipment logs and records. Ensures work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all safety rules and regulations are observed. Works with other personnel groups to resolve problems. Shall instruct and assist in training of lower-level employees in proper work methods and performance of their job duties. Coordinates with other Contractor work center supervisors. Carries out the requirements of the Monthly Maintenance Plan. Ensures safety and quality control compliance for Contractor employees.Coordinates with the GGFR to ensure the Quality and Safety manuals are approvedMonitor all Ground Operating Procedures annually and amend as requiredOther duties as requiredThe QI shall have academic and demonstrated knowledge and working experience in military aircraft maintenance organizations governed under CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and NAVAIR Instruction 3710.1(series) requirements.A QI shall have demonstrated competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as an aircraft quality control inspector. Must have demonstrated knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in:Maintenance and repair expertise in their respective inspection area(s) (e.g., power plants, ALSS).Quality Assurance inspections scheduling, criteria, documents, directives, policies and requirements.Quality Assurance documentation, forms, logs and records.NALCOMIS and VIDMAFsThe QI shall have a minimum of four (4) years aircraft maintenance experience at an I and/or D level of repair in their work center areas of expertise.The QI shall have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the field of DON military aviation as a "Quality Assurance Representative" in the last ten (10) years to the level of effort and complexity their respective work center expertise (e.g., Avionics, ALSS, Power plants/structures/ hydraulics/SE) of the requirements in this SOW. Examples of acceptable experience:QI-(AP) Aircraft Power Plants/Structures//Hydraulics/SE: Navy Aviation Machinist's Mate (AD) or Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) Senior Enlisted with Aviation Quality Assurance Representative Maintenance Experience (i.e., E-6, E-7, E-8 or E-9) or USMC equivalency. Graduate from military A and C schools.QI-(ALSS) Aircraft Life Support Systems: Navy Aircrew Survival Equipment man (PR) Senior Enlisted with Aviation Quality Assurance Representative Maintenance Experience (i.e., E-6, E-7, E-8 or E-9) or USMC equivalency. Graduate from military A and C schools.QI-(AV) Aircraft Avionics Systems: Navy Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) or Aviation Electricians Mate (AE) Senior Enlisted with Aviation Quality Assurance Representative Maintenance Experience (i.e., E-6, E-7, E-8 or E-9) or USMC equivalency. Graduate from military A and C schools.The QI shall have completed Navy Quality Assurance Representative course or equivalent.The QI-Aircraft Avionics Systems must be capable of a SECRET security clearance.Must have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in: CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and NAVAIR Instruction 3710.1(series) requirements. Navy quality assurance procedures, regulations, documents and maintenance manuals/drawings/technical directives and inspection cards, logs and records, NALCOMIS & VIDMAFs, etc.).Minimum of 5 years' aircraft maintenance experience at a level II repair facility.Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of DON military aviation as a "Quality Assurance Inspector" in the last 10 years.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or equivalent.Must have completed the Navy Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) course or equivalent.Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in various computer programs required (ex: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
