Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Location: Brea, CA - Hybrid Position

Job Summary: (list 5 primary responsibilities)

In this role, your primary responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  • Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data for reporting and analytics
  • Design and develop data models and semantic layers optimized for business intelligence consumption
  • Translate reporting and analytics requirements into performant, well-structured data solutions
  • Implement solutions within the architectural standards and patterns defined by the Data Architect
  • Monitor and tune data systems and models for performance, reliability, and accuracy
  • Document pipeline configurations, data models, and processes to support maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Apply data security and governance standards in alignment with organizational policies
  • Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to ensure data meets reporting needs
  • Serve as a technical resource for the analyst team on data modeling and pipeline questions

Requirements for Success: (list 4 โ€“ 5 primary requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5โ€“7 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or related technical roles
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and the Microsoft data platform
  • Experience building data models and reports in Power BI
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation
  • Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices
  • Familiarity with data security and governance best practices
