About the role

We are looking for a Tank farm Operator - Specialty Organics required to unload raw materials, load lithium-based products and transfer products utilizing tankers, ISO containers, various sized cylinders, and rail cars. This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician to make a meaningful impact on our ongoing operations.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7am-3pm

About the role

Reporting to the Tank Farm Supervisor and working in a collaborative community, a challenging and exciting environment, a diverse team, etc., you will be:

  • Committed to the safety of yourself and your team.

  • Respond to emergencies, fire incidents, spills, rescue situations, and participate in the PERT emergency response team.

  • Handle, transport, store, package, label, and clean up hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Complete facility inspections, safety checks, permits, job hazard assessments (i.e., Lockout/Tag-out, Safe Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, etc.) and maintain safety equipment.

  • Operate forklifts, flatbed trucks, tractors, and other equipment to safely move raw materials, products, cylinders, trailers, ISOs, and waste materials.

  • Load, unload, wash, inspect, paint, scrape, label, and maintain cylinders, trailers, ISOs, and related equipment.

  • Perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance (PMs), equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and report repair needs.

  • Support plant operations by monitoring gauges and controls, assisting with loading/offloading activities, sampling materials, and supporting process safety programs.

  • Maintain accurate shipping, inventory, training, incident, and compliance records while ensuring clean, organized work areas and adherence to 5S standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

About you

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • Chemical or industrial experience preferred.

  • A CDL with Hazmat endorsement is preferred or ability to obtain one

  • Skilled in the operation of packaging/conveying equipment.

  • Uses the computer to accurately enter information and data into Rio Tinto business systems (LQM, SAP, Hang Tag, Cority, MOC, CPAR, SBO, SharePoint).

  • Uses effective oral and written communication.

  • Uses MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and VMX to communicate all work instructions, circuit and order statuses, and job assignments.

  • A CDL with Hazmat endorsement is preferred
