Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for an Associate Director, Value Stream Management. This is a hybrid role; must work in Cedar Rapids, IA site Monday to Friday every other week, and every other week can work remotely from anywhere within US. Up to one national trip per quarter, no more than one international trip per year.

What YOU will do
  • Lead structured aerospace-segment, strategic, and technical analyses that translate emerging airspace-modernization concepts into actionable avionics capability definitions, and drive cross-functional evaluations, industry-engagement support, and systems-engineering-based trade studies to establish an end-to-end understanding of future operational needs.
  • Manage new products/services with new market capabilities and offerings. Lead strategic planning efforts and establish objectives for large-sized programs. Responsible for the accountability of the workforce in organizational operations and customer projects.
  • Manage geographic areas, business segments, product groups, or large programs to oversee overall operational performance and success.
  • Maintain accountability for the business success of the full value stream lifecycle to ensure they meet strategic goals and maintain associated measures of success.
  • Accountable for the full lifecycle of products and services from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans.
  • Serve as the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Maintain profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for a specified value stream or group of value streams within a business segment or portfolio.
  • Manage large risks with meaningful financial and schedule impacts and strategic implications for the enterprise.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Aviation, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 12 years of progressive experience as an Engineer, Product Manager, or related role within avionics. In the alternative, at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Aviation, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 10 years of experience as an Engineer, Product Manager, or related role within avionics would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 8 years of experience designing, developing and deploying avionics systems.
  • Must possess at least 6 years of experience leading cross-functional or matrixed teams across multiple disciplines within avionics.
  • Must possess at least 6 years of experience developing product line investment business cases, new business growth strategies, and annual strategic planning.
  • Must possess at least 4 years of experience participating in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other aviation industry committees.
  • Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company's immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

The salary range is $165,194.00 to $298,800.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
