Description:

AirNet II is a renowned aviation leader and part of the Kalitta family of companies, specializing in scheduled and on-demand cargo charter services. We are searching for a highly motivated Assistant Chief Inspector with the potential to grow into the Chief Inspector roll. The position will be based in Columbus, OH. Operating a fleet of Beechcraft Barons and Bombardier Learjets, AirNet II is a premier provider of industries that require immediate turn-time and specialized handling.


The Assistant Chief Inspector is responsible to the Director of Maintenance for assisting in the overall operation of the Repair Station and inspection department. In addition, the inspector must have a minimum of 36 months experience in a repair station environment, understand, read and write English.


The Assistant Chief Inspectorโ€™s duties may include:

  1. Assist, supervise and direct all inspection and maintenance personnel assigned to the repair station.
  2. Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to releasing the product for return to service.
  3. Maintain and keep current a file of pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, specifications, type certification data sheets, and airworthiness directives.
  4. Determine that all technical data on all articles overhauled or repaired by the repair station are secured and kept current with latest revisions by the respective department inspectors. This data will include repair stationโ€™s process specification for limited rating specialized services, manufacturerโ€™s overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data and other technical data used by the repair station. In addition, assure that all military technical orders used in the overhaul and repair of components have been evaluated and approved by the FAA.
  5. Assure that periodic checks are made on all inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment used by the repair station and technicians who have their own precision equipment. Further assure that a current record of those inspections and tests are maintained.
  6. Determine that no defective, un-serviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or articles released by the repair station.
  7. Submit reports of defects of un-airworthy condition in accordance with FAR 145.221.
  8. Assure the proper execution of FAA Form 337 when required, and/or a maintenance release.
  9. Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside the repair station by contract.
  10. Conduct the preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspection of all articles processed by the repair station and record results as outlined in the Repair Station manual.
  11. Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in this the Repair Station manual.
  12. Provide for continuity of inspection responsibility, assuring completion of required inspections when personnel shift of assignment changes occur.
  13. See that rejected and un-serviceable parts are handled in accordance with the Repair Station manual.
  14. Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and that the proper inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required for such release are properly executed.
  15. Maintain files of completed work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the file pertaining to a specific item repaired can be readily located for review.
  16. Inspect all radio work that requires the qualification of an A&P technician, such as airframe structures, airframe electrical wiring, and weight and balance.
  17. Ensure full compliance with the Repair Station manual and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  18. Assist in completing maintenance tasks on the aircraft as needed.
