Job description

Our organization is in search of dedicated and mission-driven Primary Care Physicians to provide exceptional care for our veterans.

The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is currently looking for Primary Care Physician Providers to support our Veterans, America's Heroes. This thrilling opportunity is available at our modern VA clinic located in Hemet! The clinic offers a range of services including primary care, behavioral health, telemedicine, preventive medicine, neurology, infectious disease, laboratory, and audiology. It is one of nine community-based outpatient clinics serving over 80,000 Veterans in the Inland Empire. These clinics enable Veterans to access healthcare services conveniently close to their homes, enhancing their overall health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Mentor and supervise medical students and residents, including interns and fellows.
  • Engage actively in Medical Center committees and collaborative teams.
  • Contribute to various facility programs aimed at improving patient care delivery, including Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Identify personal professional development needs and participate in formal education programs, workshops, and self-directed learning activities. Complete mandatory education requirements annually.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult outpatients, particularly those aged 65 and older.
  • Stay updated on advancements in disease management and treatment through ongoing medical education.
  • Effectively integrate patient care activities within Primary Care Services and other programs, such as Social Work, Prosthetics, Home-Based Health Care (HBHC), and private nursing facilities.
  • Exhibit proficiency in diagnosing and treating patients with complex, multi-symptomatic conditions.
  • Ensure timely completion of medical record documentation in CPRS.
  • Involve patients, families, and healthcare providers in setting realistic, measurable health education and treatment goals, facilitating collaborative care planning.
  • Plan, implement, and assess care tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Evaluate veterans using advanced clinical judgment and physical assessment techniques.
  • Identify acute, non-acute, and chronic health issues.
  • Participate in grading sessions for medical students and GME trainees assigned to your services.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Possess a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of Internal Medicine Residency Training is required.
  • Preferred Experience: Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice is preferred; ideally, 5 years of primary care experience, with a minimum of 3 years of recent active primary care clinical practice, including women's health experience.
