Staff Accountant | Vendor Leasing Services

Contract: 6 -12 Months

Full-Time: In-Office

Schedule: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Pay: $28-40 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant for our client in Fort Lauderdale/Dania Beach, FL. This is a mid-level position in the administration department focused on paying invoices, reconciling accounting, and heavy data entry. The department provides services for customers and vendors for Broward County Transportation Department

Great opportunity to work full-time hours for a dedicated, detail-oriented accountant who is very comfortable completing high-volume account reconciliations, creating AR reports and solving problems for management.

Job Functions:

Invoicing:
Preparing support and generating invoices for billable activities that include, but are not limited
to use of:

  • Utilities (8 hours per month);
  • Off-Airport Rental Car sales (8 hours per month);
  • Off-Airport parking (8 hours per month);
  • Fixed Base Operator services (8 hours per month); and
  • Services to Airlines by Specialized Aviation Service Operators (SASO) (1 hour per day).

Other tasks:

  • Validation of late payment charges and credit reversals (320 hours);
  • Updating of User spreadsheets and logs for late fees and Account adjustments for Airlines; Concessions, and SASO’s (1 hour per day);
  • Collecting and updating Airport Terminal Gate Use reports (12 hours per month);
  • Reconciling credit card transactions (on site only) (240 hours)
  • Updating workpapers and transaction support.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Five (5) years of responsible experience as a professional accountant in governmental or not-for-profit fund accounting
  • CPA preferred knowledge of General Accounting (GAAP) in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping,
  • Intermediate experience with MS Office products and other financial software applications.
  • High School or college degree, or equivalent work experience that lends itself to the essential job functions.
  • Highly organized and with excellent time management skills; always seeking process improvement opportunities.
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detail oriented, and organized.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must.
