Job description

Monona Catering, the exclusive catering service for the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, is currently looking to hire cooks. Our organization caters to groups ranging from two people to over two thousand attendees. Monona Catering operates as a union workplace, and employees become eligible for benefits after 60 days of employment, provided they maintain an average of 30 hours of work per week. Benefits include health insurance, dental coverage, short-term disability, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Compensation is based on experience, with a starting wage of $9.01 per hour, plus tips/cash/credit and participation in a tip pool. The facility is closed on all major holidays, ensuring that employees have time off on these days.

The bartender position requires knowledge of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage service. The bartender is responsible for assisting the Bar Captain/Lead with the proper and timely setup, execution, and teardown of all bar service. Each employee needs to manage and account for incoming cash and hosted drinks accurately to ensure correct billing for clients and proper tips for staff.

We maintain specific personal appearance standards, which require neatly trimmed facial hair and limited facial piercings. A portion of your uniform will be provided by the company, and all uniform laundering is managed by our staff. Meals are also provided for our employees.

Work shifts generally begin at or before 3:00 PM, so candidates should be prepared to start at this time or earlier.
