203°F Coffee Co. in Kirkland, WA is looking for baristas to join our 15 person strong team. We are located in the Totem Lake Village. Our ideal candidate has is passionate about coffee and has previous specialty coffee experience. Must be available to work evenings (12:30pm-7:30pm) and weekends. This is for a part-time position, about 20-30 hours per week.

About Us:

203°F Coffee Co was started in 2019 with the opening of our first location in Kirkland's Totem Lake Village. In 2021 we opened our second location in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. Our mission is to offer a coffee experience that highlights the beauty, complexity and natural flavors of coffee, understanding that much hard work and labor is put into each bean that is harvested. In order to honor that hard work, we are focused on extracting the most potential of each coffee we brew. Though we offer flavored beverages, we are not a fast food, sweet drink cafe and value high drink crafting standards over quick turnaround times. Our menu reflects these values by observing SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) drink standards as we aim to offer the public a one of a kind coffee experience.

Job Description:

The Cafe Barista at 203°F Coffee Co. is responsible for crafting all drinks on our menu meeting our beverage standards, providing exceptional customer service by being informed of all of our offerings as well as how to best inform the customers on our methods and why these methods set us apart from a typical cafe. The Barista is also responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the cafe which include maintaining cleanliness, organization and meeting health and safety standards.

Job Summary:

  • Maintains continuous education on our products and services, by developing an understanding of our various types of coffee, tea products, blends and roasts, as well as knowledge of coffee and tea regions, and the various differences in process and brewing methods.
  • Understand and execute preparation of all menu beverages according to 203ºF Coffee Co. drink recipe standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains efficient, friendly service standards.
  • Responds proactively to prevent and resolve customer service situations.
  • Maintains high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the store in the areas of store appearance, merchandise and equipment.
  • Performs opening and closing duties.
  • Attend trainings to help improve and maintain beverage crafting skills.
  • Assists the Managers in maintaining proper loss prevention standards, reviewing cash handling procedures, deposits and safe procedures.
  • Responds to any and all emergencies while on shift by directing or performing steps necessary to ensure medical treatment and/or escape routes are available.
  • Informs the store manager of any operational inconsistencies, employee incidents, accidents, potential safety hazards, or any unusual or pertinent events.
  • Reports employee accidents and potential safety hazards to the store manager; completes appropriate paperwork and recommends a proper course of action.

Compensation:

Hourly wage of $17.13-18.00 per hour depending on experience. You will also collect tips for hours worked on the floor (tips average between $9-$11 per hour)
