Job description

Advisor Position at Aveda Institute New Mexico

The advisors will facilitate growth and productivity within the Aveda Institute New Mexico. In addition, they will ensure that every guest receives the best experience possible and support the cosmetology and esthiology students.

Responsibilities
  • Greet all guests upon arrival at the location and determine their needs.
  • Offer each guest a beverage and a ritual if they are waiting for a service provider(student).
  • Offer guests a tour of the Institute so they are aware of all services provided.
  • Provide education regarding Aveda products.
  • Participate in Institute events and events in the community.
  • Maintain benchmarks and monthly sales goals.
  • Provide support to all service providers (students) by checking guests in and out.
  • Communicate any schedule changes to the service providers, instructors and/or guests if needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of the Aveda Service Wheel and follow through to the end with each and every guest.
  • Attend all meetings in order to be aware of new products, services and strategies for growth.
  • Ensure that the Institute is clean and product is stocked.
  • Consistently communicate with Team Leaders and the Advisor team to ensure everyone is aware of what is happening on the service floor as well as the retail area.
Requirements
  • Passionate about nurturing others in alignment with the Aveda Institute New Mexico mission and the Aveda mission.
  • Previous retail experience, specifically in the beauty industry is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Must be able to work retail hours including weekends, holidays and special events.
  • Demonstrated experience with computers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk or stand for up to eight (8) hours at a time; sit; use hands to handle objects; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, talk and hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to a noise level that is usually minimal to moderate.
