Position Overview

Uplifted Horizon Psychotherapy Center is currently seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. With a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, plus a sign-on bonus, you will engage with individuals and families facing various mental health challenges.

Work Environment

As a member of our team, you will operate in an outpatient setting primarily through a remote work model. This setup is designed to facilitate work-life balance while allowing you to focus on your clients with minimal distractions. You will have access to a collaborative digital workspace that includes electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to streamline documentation and treatment monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting initial assessments and documenting client case history from the first consultation through their ongoing treatment.
  • Evaluating the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients using a variety of assessment techniques.
  • Developing tailored intervention and recovery plans based on client needs, which may include individuals, couples, and families.
  • Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage reflection, growth, and healing.
  • Continuously monitoring client progress towards goals and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and other healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Coordinating referrals to other specialists when necessary to address specific needs.
  • Educating family members and caregivers on managing the mental health challenges of their loved ones to foster a supportive environment.
  • Proactively identifying potential risks that may hinder recovery and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve diverse individuals and families experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and relationship challenges. Your empathetic approach will be vital in creating a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and experiences, ensuring they feel validated and supported. The emphasis on personalized care allows you to adapt your techniques to suit varying client backgrounds and needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Diverse experience in providing mental health counseling to various populations.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems to enhance treatment delivery.
Preferred Experience
  • Expertise in addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
