Position Overview

Westside Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in providing exceptional care to clients seeking support for their mental health challenges. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to engage with a diverse client population from the comfort of your own home. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations and follow up with detailed documentation to track client progress from assessment through treatment completion.
• Analyze clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to tailor individualized recovery plans for those facing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress reactions.
• Facilitate therapeutic interventions by leading both individual and group therapy sessions that foster insight, promote healing, and build coping skills among participants.
• Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to meet evolving needs and ensuring adherence to established recovery plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses—to develop comprehensive care strategies that address not just mental health, but overarching wellness.
• Provide ongoing support to family members and caregivers based on identified needs, and educate them on managing mental health challenges effectively.
• Identify and mitigate potential setbacks by proactively addressing behaviors that may hinder recovery, ensuring a stable path forward for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Westside Counseling Services, you will be working with a diverse population of clients, ranging from adolescents to adults, who face a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and substance use dependencies. Qualifications

• A current and valid license as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, LCSW-C in Kansas is required.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• An accomplished track record of passing key licensing examinations, including the NCE and/or the NCMHCE.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to manage client data efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, with a focus on individual, family, and group therapy.
• A background in addressing both emotional and physical health issues, as well as experience with addiction disorders.
• Familiarization with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth understanding of the effects of prescribed medications on mental health treatment.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and cultivate a supportive therapeutic relationship.

Compensation and Benefits
