Certified Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities:
  • Help clients with daily activities, including but not limited to: bathing, dressing, serving meals, helping clients eat, turning clients and ambulating clients
  • Take vital signs
  • Examine clients for bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds
  • Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
  • Lift clients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables, etc.
  • Clean and sanitize client areas, including changing bed sheets
  • Stay up-to-date on CNA training, policies and procedures
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to record data accurately and timely (e.g. % eaten, I&O).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess or be eligible to receive certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Wisconsin for Long Term care facilities.
