ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to drive critical initiatives across Amazon Photos services. The right candidate will have both a strong technical background and demonstrated experience in technical management or program/product management. You will partner with engineers, TPMs, Product Managers, and senior leadership to create world-class solutions that delight millions of customers globally.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional program execution, partnering with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver customer-facing features and foundational services
- Drive architectural decisions and technical planning for complex, large-scale systems handling massive data sets and ML model serving
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and make tradeoffs balancing customer needs, business requirements, and technical constraints
- Break down large, complex projects into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, and deliver them successfully and on time
- Coordinate and plan across multiple teams, finding technical solutions that span services and applications
- Cultivate relationships and earn trust with teams both inside and outside your organization, using diverse unblocking tools and mechanisms
- Lead Think Big processes, ensuring the organization looks around corners and plans the right investments
- Identify and create mechanisms that raise the bar on quality and speed of delivery
Gather high-quality requirements and drive toward optimal architectural outcomes
- Track and communicate the path to delivery within and across the organization
A day in the life
As a Senior TPM, you will lead collaboration across multiple teams and organizations, driving the planning, architecture, and delivery of high-quality customer experiences. You will work on initiatives spanning backend services, client applications, and integrations with Amazon's broader device ecosystem including Echo Show, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and future products. Your role requires coordinating across engineering, product, QA, marketing, and UX teams to ensure we are building scalable, long-term technical solutions while meeting our commitments.
About the team
Amazon Photos helps consumers preserve and re-live their memories. The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into Alexa devices such as Echo Show. We have ambitious goals to scale growth and adoption of the service around the world and delight our customers with a great product.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience designing and developing robust and scalable software and services in multimedia areas

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
