About The Role

Colders is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV Installer to join our technical team. The AV Installer will be responsible for the setup, installation, and integration of professional audiovisual systems in customers' homes. The ideal candidate has strong technical and troubleshooting abilities, can interpret blueprints, and is committed to delivering high-quality, functional AV systems for our clients.

What you will be doing each day:

  • Install, configure, and calibrate a wide range of AV equipment, including projectors, screens, video walls, speakers, microphones, and control systems.
  • Run, pull, and terminate low-voltage cables (e.g., Cat5/6, fiber optic) and perform professional cable management.
  • Fabricate and assemble equipment racks, and mount displays and speakers according to technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Conduct on-site system testing and commissioning to ensure all components are functioning correctly and meeting client expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during and after installation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other team members to ensure installations are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to clients on the proper use of new AV systems.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all installations, inventory, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow all company and industry safety regulations, particularly when working at heights or in confined spaces.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training, an Associate's degree, or certification in AV technology, electronics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in AV installation, low-voltage cabling, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with common AV hardware and software, including control systems like Crestron, AMX, or Extron.
  • Expertise in signal flow, cable termination, rack building, and equipment mounting.
  • Strong computer skills for system configuration and documentation.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, especially under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working in various physical positions.
