DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Adult Career Development (ACD) ManagerSALARY RANGE: SalaryCLASSIFICATION: ExemptCONTRACT: 12 - MonthSAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION: YesTRAVEL: 5%LOCATION: Enid, OK PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position supports the Workforce and Economic Development (WED) department by coordinating short-term workforce training, community interest classes, and other educational opportunities, with a primary focus on healthcare-related training.
Responsibilities include identifying training needs, developing and maintaining programs, coordinating instructors, and resources, ensuring applicable program and regulatory requirements are met, and supporting effective delivery of training opportunities. Must demonstrate versatility and adaptability, with willingness to learn, coordinate, and oversee programs across a variety of subject areas. The position requires effectively managing programs outside of one's individual area of expertise while maintaining and advancing programs within areas of established knowledge and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee short-term healthcare training programs, including but not limited to Long Term Care Nurse Aide, Certified Medication Aide, Phlebotomy, and related continuing education offerings.Coordinate with the full-time Health Flex Lab employee(s) and part-time instructors to support routine training, certifications, and training opportunities, including after-hour offerings as appropriate to meet student and workforce needs.Maintain professional relationships with applicable governing agencies and ensure healthcare programs remain within required approval, credentialing, and regulatory standards.Identify workforce training needs and develop or expand programs that respond to the needs of area business, industry partners, individuals, and community.Develop and maintain open-enrollment and customized training programs that meet industry-specific workforce needs.Partner with businesses, industry partners, and internal staff to identify training needs and develop appropriate workforce solutions.Assist with client leads, customized programming, and training delivery in coordination with IT&D Specialists and other ACD staff.Plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee short-term workforce training, community interest classes, and other offerings included in the Short-Term Course Catalog.Develop, coordinate, and evaluate a qualified pool of part-time instructors and subject matter experts to support program needs.Coordinate programs and subject areas outside the individual's primary healthcare specialty, utilizing qualified instructors or subject matter experts as appropriate.Open and close classes and events for which the position is responsible, including meeting and greeting participants, reviewing applicable policies and procedures, and collecting evaluations. If unavailable, make appropriate arrangements for the instructor or another Specialist to provide coverage.Continuously seek program development through evaluations, exploration of new and existing curriculum, investigation of industry trends and changes in training, and other appropriate methods to ensure quality, relevant, and effective training.Coordinate instructor assignments, schedules, classrooms, labs, equipment, supplies, and other resources necessary for successful program delivery.Develop cost-effective strategies related to fees, instructor compensation, room/lab scheduling, equipment, and supplies.Instruct courses as necessary to support program needs and maintain subject matter familiarity within the are of specialization.Assist with public relations and promotional activities that promote awareness of workforce and economic development, healthcare training, community interest, and other short-term training opportunities, needs, and successes.Maintain professional competence through participation in professional, educational, and leadership activities and remain current on developments, trends, and best practices within the healthcare specialty area, as well as instructional, technological, and workforce development practices.Keep informed of and appropriately interpret laws, regulations, statutes, rules, credentialing requirements, and policies affecting programs within the healthcare specialty area and other WED programs.Prepare and submit reports, records, and other documentation as required by department leadership, governing agencies, and program requirements.Perform other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in training, education, program coordination, or a related environment is highly preferred
