Job description

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Lead City Desk Representative to join our team in Bloomington, MN. This position will initially train and work as a City Desk Representative before transitioning into a leadership role overseeing and supporting two additional City Desk Representatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automotive industry, automotive retail, specialty tools, parts, or related products. Previous leadership or management experience with companies such as AutoZone, NAPA, O’Reilly Auto Parts, or similar automotive retail environments is highly desirable. Candidates with a combination of automotive knowledge, customer service, sales, and leadership experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

·       Begin by training and working as a City Desk Representative to gain a thorough understanding of products, services, customers, and internal processes.

·       Transition into a Lead City Desk Representative role, providing leadership and day-to-day support to two City Desk Representatives.

·       Serve as an escalation point for customer concerns or issues that require additional assistance or resolution.

·       Provide exceptional customer service while building and maintaining positive customer relationships.

·       Assist with approving transactions, decisions, and customer resolutions within an expanded level of authorization.

·       Coordinate and help manage vacation schedules and time-off coverage for City Desk Representatives.

·       Support the City Desk team with daily operations, problem-solving, and workflow coordination.

·       Utilize knowledge of automotive products, tools, and specialty equipment to assist customers and support the sales process.

·       Assist with inventory-related responsibilities as needed.

·       Use computer systems to track information, maintain records, and support daily operations.

·       Work closely with customers and internal team members to ensure timely and accurate service.

·       Lead by example and help maintain a professional, dependable, and customer-focused work environment.


Qualifications

·       Previous experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred and considered the most important qualification for this role.

·       Experience with automotive parts, specialty tools, automotive repair products, or related equipment is highly desirable.

·       Previous supervisory, management, team lead, or leadership experience preferred.

·       Experience working for an automotive parts retailer such as AutoZone, NAPA, O’Reilly Auto Parts, or a similar environment is a plus.

·       Strong customer service and communication skills are required.

·       Previous sales experience is helpful.

·       Inventory experience is preferred but not required.

·       Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills are helpful.

·       Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle escalated customer concerns professionally.

·       Ability to prioritize responsibilities and coordinate schedules for a small team.

·       Dependable with reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.

·       Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
