Job description

Job Title:         Product Engineer

Client:              Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration:         12 Months

Location:         Cary, NC 27513

Shift:                1st Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Role Overview

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software for vehicle controller systems.
  • Works on moderate to complex engineering projects, contributing to system architecture and integration.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality embedded solutions.
  • Drives innovation in tools, workflows, and automation within the embedded development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software systems
  • Perform requirements analysis, architecture design, and integration
  • Develop features using C/C++ for embedded operating systems
  • Build tools and utilities using C#
  • Create automation frameworks and scripts using Python
  • Conduct controller integration testing and validation
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
  • Maintain technical documentation and standards
  • Analyze and resolve system issues (root cause analysis)
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
  • Deliver small to mid-scale projects within timelines

Must Have

  • Strong experience in embedded software development (C/C++)
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (C#)
  • Knowledge of embedded systems lifecycle
  • Experience with Python scripting / automation
  • Understanding of CAN protocols (J1939, ISO 14229, Automotive Ethernet)
  • Experience with build tools (GNU Make)
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AUTOSAR or embedded OS platforms
