Job description

Job Summary:
Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, focusing on the next era of autonomous transportation with advanced technology for commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis. The Platform Verification Engineer will be responsible for creating and executing verification plans, developing tests, and ensuring the safety and validation of the autonomous platform in collaboration with external partners.
Responsibilities:
• Creating verification plans based on requirements.
• Developing and documenting tests.
• Executing tests with support from other test engineers.
• Developing fault injection tools and techniques.
• Owning the creation, documentation, alignment and verification of autonomous platform requirements at Waabi and defining ways for how to describe and evaluate them efficiently and effectively.
• Acting as a central point of contact at Waabi for specific platform-related verification methods and tests and communicating updates, progress and potential roadblocks to stakeholders at all levels.
• Owning the creation and tracking of tests in line with company project milestones.
• Implementing tools and methodologies to streamline and automate the Waabi platform verification processes.
• Working with external partners on delivering a safe autonomous platform that has been verified and validated to support a strong safety case for the complete self-driving system.
• Bringing an in-depth understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in self-driving systems.
• Conducting in-vehicle testing, to be conducted with the assistance of a vehicle operator.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors in an engineering discipline (MS/PhD preferred) with 3+ years of experience in automotive, robotics, or a related industry.
• Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.
• Proven experience in systems engineering, verification and validation (V&V), and working with requirements and metrics.
• Knowledge of the typical autonomous vehicle stack.
• Experience executing complex vehicle test campaigns with a strong understanding of physics, vehicle dynamics and actuation (brakes, steering, propulsion).
• Experience with testing and data analysis tools such as those from Vector, Peak, ETAS, Foxglove.
• Track record of debugging complex systems.
• Excellent data analysis skills with modern tools such as Python or Matlab.
Preferred:
• A good understanding of how trucks work and are operated.
• Experience developing and launching products in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industries.
• Experience building software systems from scratch.
• Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
