Location: Austin, TX
Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in advancing cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology while helping maintain the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

As an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver, you will:

  • Operate autonomous vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws

  • Collect critical data on vehicle performance and environmental conditions

  • Monitor autonomous driving systems during real-world testing

  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to unexpected driving situations

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and readiness checks

  • Complete detailed reports to support ongoing technology development

  • Collaborate with engineers, operations leaders, and riders by providing feedback and observations

  • Help ensure the safety of all road users during testing operations

Available SchedulesTuesday โ€“ Saturday
  • 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)

AM Shift Options:

  • 5:00 AM โ€“ 1:30 PM

  • 5:30 AM โ€“ 2:00 PM

  • 6:00 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM

PM Shift Options:

  • 3:30 PM โ€“ 12:00 AM

  • 4:00 PM โ€“ 12:30 AM

Friday โ€“ Monday
  • 40 hours per week (10-hour shifts)

AM Shift:

  • 4:30 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM

PM Shift:

  • 2:30 PM โ€“ 1:00 AM

Note: New hires will begin on either the 6:00 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM shift or the 2:30 PM โ€“ 11:00 PM shift, based on hiring needs.

QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum of 3 years holding a valid U.S. driver's license

  • Clean driving record with no DUI, drug-related, or alcohol-related offenses within the past 5 years

  • Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail and sense of responsibility

  • Ability to remain focused and distraction-free for extended periods

  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and on different road types

Preferred
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and control technologies

  • Experience working with autonomous vehicles

  • Defensive driving training or safe-driving certifications

  • Motorsport or advanced driving experience
