Job description

The Sr. Corporate Manager, Mining & Technology will lead the implementation and integration of advanced mining systems across our operations, including autonomous haulage systems (AHS) and other digital and automation technologies. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end system integration, operational readiness, and performance optimization across mine sites.
The Senior Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with operations, technical services, and technology partners to ensure successful deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of advanced mining systems. This includes establishing scalable operating models, enabling real-time decision-making, and advancing the company's digital and autonomous capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in implementing advanced mining technologies, including AHS, and demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives in a mining environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of advanced mining systems across multiple mine sites, including autonomous haulage systems (AHS), fleet management systems, drilling automation, and digital dispatch tools.
  • Define and drive the operating model for advanced mining systems, ensuring alignment with safety, production, maintenance, and planning functions.
  • Lead and develop a diverse team of engineers and specialists, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation and operational excellence.
  • Develop and execute integrated project roadmaps covering system deployment, infrastructure readiness, data integration, and operational handoff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, technical services, IT/OT) to ensure seamless system integration and sustained performance.
  • Drive change management and workforce adoption of advanced technologies, including development of playbooks, training programs, and role clarity.
  • Establish performance metrics and governance processes to monitor system effectiveness, reliability, and value realization.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across autonomous and non-autonomous systems, leveraging data and analytics.
  • Lead operational risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and functional safety standards.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mining operations, including haulage, drilling, blasting, and material movement processes.
  • Strong understanding of advanced mining systems, including autonomous haulage systems (AHS), fleet management systems, drilling automation, and dispatch technologies.
  • Experience integrating multiple mining systems within an open-pit environment.
  • Knowledge of digital mining architectures, including data systems, telemetry, and real-time operational platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of project and program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Understanding of project risk management, resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, protocols, and industry standards related to mining operations and autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts, particularly in the context of autonomous and semi-autonomous equipment.
  • Understanding of organizational change management principles, particularly in implementing disruptive technologies within a workforce.
  • Knowledge of strategies to overcome resistance and ensure stakeholder alignment during technological transitions.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to teach, develop, empower, and mentor.
  • Ability to influence and deliver results within the organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to partner with key internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations, identify key issues, and develop strategic solutions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 8 years' extensive experience in the deployment and management of autonomous haulage systems in a mining environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) and related technologies.
  • English language fluency.
