Kett provides services to automotive manufacturers, Tier-1 suppliers, and technology companies on public roads, proving grounds, off-road, and at engineering and technical centers. Kett's core service offerings include contract recruiting and staffing, proving ground management, test program development, field and fleet test development, data acquisition and reporting, mapping programs and test trip staffing, and logistics and support.

We are currently looking for an Electric Vehicle Development Technician to join our team and work with our customer an innovative electric vehicle manufacturer at their facilities in Plymouth, MI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform diagnosis and repair of prototype vehicle's electrical/mechanical/software.
  • Work with various engineering groups to support their vehicle testing programs, including vehicle preparation and test support.
  • Carryout routine vehicle checks, and maintenance as required Update vehicle/module software.
  • Perform development and validation testing.
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures.
  • Communicate directly with engineers and other technicians to ensure a high level of technical support.
  • Test drive vehicles on closed tracks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, safety practices and supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of technician / mechanic work experience in the automotive industry
  • Electric/hybrid vehicle experience required
  • Valid driver license with clean record
  • Advanced driver training. (preferred)
  • Strong automotive electrical understanding
  • High Voltage electrical knowledge and training
  • CAN/LIN network understanding
  • Minor fabrication experience
  • Strong technical and mechanical ability
