About This Job

As an Express Technician for Genesis, you play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and maintaining the luxury performance of our vehicles. You perform fast, accurate, and high-quality maintenance, ensuring every Genesis owner experiences reliability and satisfaction. This role is vital to our service department's efficiency and customer trust, contributing directly to our reputation for excellence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Express Technician performs essential maintenance tasks with precision and speed, ensuring vehicle safety and optimal performance. This role focuses on delivering efficient service while upholding Genesis's high standards.

  • Performs routine Oil Changes and fluid services accurately and efficiently.
  • Executes Tire Rotation according to manufacturer specifications and inspects tire condition.
  • Conducts comprehensive Multi-Point Inspection on all vehicles to identify potential issues.
  • Performs thorough Brake Inspection, checking components for wear and safety.
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance tasks, ensuring vehicle longevity and reliability.
  • Checks and replenishes all essential Fluid Checks, including coolant, power steering, and washer fluid.
  • Performs Battery Testing and assesses charging system health.
  • Understands and services basic Hyundai/Genesis Vehicle Systems.
  • Documents all services performed accurately and clearly.
  • Communicates effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle status and findings.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all Shop Safety protocols.
Required QualificationsEducation
  • Possesses a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completes technical training from an accredited automotive program.
Experience
  • Holds at least 1 year of experience in automotive express service or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with modern automotive systems and diagnostic tools.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Applies strong knowledge of Oil Changes, Tire Rotation, and Preventative Maintenance procedures.
  • Excels in performing Multi-Point Inspection, Brake Inspection, Fluid Checks, and Battery Testing.
  • Understands fundamental Hyundai/Genesis Vehicle Systems.
  • Adheres strictly to Shop Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Operates hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment proficiently.
  • Exhibits excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Achieves ASE Certification (e.g., A4 Suspension & Steering, A5 Brakes, G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair).
  • Possesses Genesis or Hyundai specific training and certifications.
  • Gains experience working in a luxury automotive dealership setting.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
  • Lifts and carries automotive parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stands, walks, bends, kneels, and stoops for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Works in a fast-paced environment, which may include exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
  • Uses hands for fine manipulation, reaching, and grasping.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and maintains a clean driving record.
