About the Role

Join a leading provider of industrial manufacturing and paint finishing systems. You’ll integrate mechanical systems across complex finishing lines—supporting design, engineering, fabrication, installation, startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance.

Core Accountabilities
  • Own portions of mechanical system design for paint shops and industrial finishing environments.
  • Produce and review layouts, assemblies, equipment arrangements, platforms, structural supports, ductwork, piping, and conveyor interfaces.
  • Generate, check, and update drawings/models and technical documentation for fabrication and field execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, PM, manufacturing, purchasing, vendors, contractors, installers, and customers from concept to launch.
  • Assess designs for fit, function, manufacturability, installation feasibility, safety, quality, cost, and serviceability.
  • Manage engineering changes, customer revisions, drawing updates, and field inquiries on timing-driven projects.
  • Plan integration and installation activities; support commissioning, startup, debug, and launch readiness.
  • Identify risks early and propose practical fixes that protect schedule, budget, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records; follow internal quality, safety, and process controls.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years in mechanical engineering within paint finishing, industrial equipment, manufacturing systems, process equipment, industrial HVAC/ventilation, conveyors, fabrication, automation-adjacent, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to read, interpret, develop, and review mechanical drawings, layouts, and assemblies.
  • Understanding of fabrication, installation, commissioning, and field support for large systems.
  • Cross-functional experience with engineering, design, PM, manufacturing, purchasing, vendors, contractors/installers, and customers.
  • Problem-solver who can troubleshoot design issues and deliver field-ready solutions.
  • Clear communicator who can balance technical depth with schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer needs.
Preferred
  • Experience in automotive paint shops or industrial paint finishing systems.
  • Familiar with booths, ovens, air houses, ventilation, ductwork, conveyors, platforms, piping, process equipment, structural steel, and integrated facility systems.
  • End-to-end project support: design → fabrication → installation → startup → commissioning → acceptance.
  • Background across automotive, aerospace, heavy truck, tier suppliers, general industrial, or large plants.
  • Comfort with MS Office, MS Project, quality systems, project documentation, engineering change processes, and QOS or similar.
  • CAD experience; platform to be confirmed during intake.
